Skewb Insights: 2,500+ Years of Industry Expertise, Shared Knowledge, and Future-Focused Thinking

Streamlining Success

In the realm of civil engineering and construction, few companies manage to strike the perfect balance between innovation, reliability, and efficiency.

JN Civils, a leader in infrastructure and civil works, has consistently demonstrated its commitment to delivering high-quality projects that stand the test of time.

And Skewb are the perfect strategic partner to JN Civils having spent the last few months fostering a collaborative relationship built on trust and mutual respect whilst implementing Skewb Works.

Skewb Works – a personal review

Having implemented several workforce management products throughout my career, I had high expectations for Skewb Works. I’m thrilled to say it not only met but exceeded my expectations. This powerful product seamlessly integrates technology and data analytics with a user-centric design, enabling clients to manage their operations with ease and efficiency.

There are many modules ranging from planning & scheduling to fleet & logistics management and I’d like to highlight a couple of standout features.

For the People Team, Skewb Works offers a comprehensive HR module that centralises all employee data, including personal details, job roles, employment history, training records, and absences. This eliminates the need for multiple disparate systems, ensuring information is consistent and up to date. The module’s ability to interact with other areas of Skewb Works to match qualified, skilled, and available employees to tasks transforms workforce management, especially in the often reactive environments of civil engineering and construction.

As a scheduler, I’ve found the job management module to be the most intelligent product I’ve encountered. It provides a real-time view of a job throughout its lifecycle, improving task allocation and resource optimisation. This module also maintains a complete and accessible record of activities, including site images, which Tracy Sweeney Head of Delivery 14 is invaluable for health and safety audits and job pack sign-offs. Features like the drag-and-drop planner are user-friendly and significantly enhance operational efficiency.

Sharon Sayles, who manages Safe Dig works at JNC Blackpool, highlighted that Skewb Works has saved her two hours previously spent on manually processing job information. Now, with the click of a button, all job details are automatically uploaded.

Steve Donaldson, Contract Manager, emphasised the benefits of giving clients like Openreach read-only access to job data. This simple change delivers significant time savings by reducing the volume of phone and email queries about job statuses.

I’m proud to be part of the Skewb Works team, knowing we’ve developed another intelligent product that drives efficiency and adds value for our Clients. By combining cutting-edge technology with user-centric design, Skewb Works empowers organisations to optimise their operations and achieve greater success.
