In 2018 our co-founders Shashi & Indu Seshadri decided to bring their vision of making a difference for the utility industry to life by founding Skewb, where we are passionate about working collaboratively with clients and we are hands on in our approach to delivering.

Our home is a space curated for growth, innovation, and collaboration. We’ve carefully crafted an atmosphere that is tailor-made for our Skewbers’ innovative spirit to thrive, and teamwork to reach unprecedented heights.

Ankita Sen – IGEM “Hydrogen and the Natural Gas Network” Course
In a World where we are thinking of alternative solutions to provide energy to homes and reduce our carbon footprint, I was interested in carrying out a course to learn more about the way Hydrogen could be used and the legislations around it.
The course was a 6-hour online module split over two days. The items I found most interesting were the benefits and uses of Hydrogen and what projects were being undertaken in the UK.
Working within the energy sector, I felt it invaluable to gain an insight on what the forward plan is and how this would be implemented to reach net zero. I felt really grateful that Skewb helped me carry this course out as part of my journey.
Esme Thomas – Mental Health First Aider
Last year in 2023 I decided I’d like to do a Mental Health first aider course through Journey23. I had earlier in the year completed a First Aid course also organised by Skewb so to coincide with that I thought it would be beneficial to myself and others if I completed a Mental Health first aider course.
The course ran over 2 days, it was a lot to digest but I found it really interesting. We learnt how to spot signs of someone struggling with their mental health and ways of approaching different types of people in different situations. We covered a variety of scenarios and how to tackle those situations if we ever faced them. I have always been an empathetic person and enjoy helping people but when it came to mental health I wasn’t educated on certain things and didn’t have access to helpful resources but now I do.
Completing this course was work related but I can also use this in my day to day life and the skills I have learnt will stick with me forever.
People are more vocal about ill mental health or struggles they face now which is good, however this isn’t the case for everyone. It takes an enormous amount of courage to speak out and not everyone is comfortable or ready to do that which is understandable. This is why it’s important to have Mental Health First Aiders in businesses, to be able to offer people that extra support to listen and help in any way possible.
Since doing the course I have definitely been able to notice things I wouldn’t of noticed prior to doing the course and its given me different ways of approaching people. I would urge anyone to do the course if you have access as it can be used in everyday life and not just in work.

At Skewb, our governance framework is designed to be both simplified and highly effective, ensuring seamless operations across all levels of the business. We implement a three-tiered Assurance model that covers Project, Portfolio, and OPCO levels, providing comprehensive oversight and accountability at every stage.
Our approach fosters cross-leverage and sharing of insights across projects within an account or portfolio, enhancing efficiency and driving best practices. This integrated, collaborative delivery model not only strengthens our internal processes but also creates synergies in customer engagement, ensuring that we consistently deliver exceptional value and results for our clients.

The Board

Our Skewb Board is entrusted with critical responsibilities that ensure the company’s strategic direction and operational integrity.
They oversee Corporate Risk, ensuring we proactively manage potential challenges, and provide Business Outcomes Assurance to align our efforts with desired goals. The Board also plays a key role in approving remuneration packages, ensuring fair and competitive compensation.
Their focus extends to Customer Satisfaction and Growth Oversight, fostering relationships that drive our expansion. They maintain Headcount Oversight to ensure our team is optimally resourced and manage Financial and Corporate Governance, including ongoing obligations, to sustain our robust and compliant business operations.
Jonathan Earl
Investor Director
Jon joined BGF in 2013 and is based in the Midlands. He leads on portfolio in the region, working closely with entrepreneurs and business owners, managing portfolio company investments, delivering and maximising value creation as a board member, and preparing our investee companies for long-term growth and exit. Jon has significant experience of investing in SMEs, having previously worked at Catapult Ventures. In his earlier career, he was at KPMG in the Midlands (where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant) and at Lloyds Pharmacy.
Ronnie McCombe
Non-Executive Chair
Ronnie is a Chartered Accountant, has worked both in the UK and Internationally and held a number of senior leadership roles at KPMG in London over 20 years as a partner. This included leading major transformation programmes across a range of FTSE Companies. In 2019, Ronnie left to start a non-executive career with private equity backed growth companies.
Ronnie’s experience as Chair includes consultancies across the build engineering, energy transition, resourcing and legal sectors. As Non-Executive Chair, Ronnie will work with Skewb to drive the continued growth of the business.
Shashi Seshadri
Co-Founder, Director & CEO
Shashi sets the strategic direction of Skewb. Ensuring the business continues to grow and that all client outcomes are achieved. Shashi leads the Executive Management Team setting our culture of putting Skewbers and clients in the heart of everything we do.
Steve Douglas
Chief Financial Officer
Steve started his career at Deloitte in Birmingham working in both audit and corporate finance. In the early 2000s he joined a small investment bank, heading up the corporate finance team for a number of years. Steve moved into the role of CFO in the mid 2010s as the business grew. Following the sale of this business in 2022, he has more recently been the Chief Operating Officer within the enlarged business and has been responsible for various integration projects.
Indu Seshadri
Co-Founder & Director of Business Services
Indu has oversight of Product sales & marketing and associated target outcomes. Indu also has a passion for diversity & inclusion and will become more involved in ensuring Skewb continues to lead our peers in this area.
Kyle Long
Observer (BGF)
Kyle is responsible for identifying businesses in growing and emerging sectors that would benefit from BGF funding, completing new and follow-on investments, and working closely with portfolio companies to support them in their growth journey.
Kyle qualified as a Chartered Accountant at KPMG, before spending over four years in its Corporate Finance team where he specialised in the TMT sector and advised on a range of sell-side and buy-side transactions involving owner-managed businesses, private equity and corporates.

It’s simple, a Skewber is an employee or partner of Skewb.
Not always—it depends on the role. Skewb is unique for its deep industry expertise, so some positions do require this knowledge. However, for other roles, it’s not essential, and we value transferable skills.
For full-time Skewbers, we expect three days of mobility per week, which includes a variety of working at Skewb HQ, client site, and home working. The exact arrangement varies by role, providing flexibility for a dynamic and balanced work environment.
Just like a Skewb, it’s multidimensional. It’s the continuous development & growth of our Skewbers, the expansion of our products and services, financial progress, and the number of Skewbers we employ… the list itself keeps growing!
