The powerful AI engine at the heart of Skewb Novus creates a near-real-time view of customer consumption which is applied to DMA water balances transforming the client’s view of leakage as is it no longer blurred by demand changes. This has been shown to improve the productivity of detection resources as they are no longer wasting time chasing demand.
The AI Engine uses the pressure and flow data combined with network attributes and historic behaviour to predicts the most likely location for leakage to have occurred in a DMA. This has been shown to reduce DMA cycle times as the detection teams are given a real head start in the DMA sweep.
Telematics data relays the location of the workforce, facilitating coordinated and efficient response strategies.
In the Skewb Novus Leakage Operations environment the analyst complete the full targeting process by using the aggregated view of all the corporate data in one place. By the click of button they then issue the DMA pack to the Leakage Technician. This empowers the technician with all the available data for the DMA including hotspot information, live pressure, flow and acoustic data, plus up to date repair job data. By providing this information digitally the technician no longer has to return to the depot to collect paper packs, and they are also armed with significantly greater insight into the DMA which they are surveying.

Skewb Novus aggregates all corporate data into one platform and combines it with consumption modelling transform event visibility. By removing alarm blindness in the control room Skewb Novus I2S module has been shown to reduce major interruptions on average by over 3 hours. Critically Skewb Novus empowers our clients to deploy interventions before customers become aware of a situation transforming the customer experience from one of being used as the primary event sensor to receiving a comprehensive message of a controlled event response. We move the customer experience from “Oh really, we’ll get someone out there” to “Yes, we are aware of the situation and have mobilised a supply continuity response”
Skewb Novus continually receives pressure and flow data from site, and while an event it makes use of it’s like hydraulic modelling to identify customers who are experiencing low pressure or supply interruptions. As mitigation actions are put in place, the model is continually updated, and used to enhance management decision making as well as customer messaging.
Skewb Novus captures each mitigating action during an event response as well as modelling the customers impacted, recording when each customer goes out of supply and comes back on. This capacity transforms the reporting process as all the actions and outcomes are available in the event log, and therefore taking days out of the internal and external reporting cycles, and significantly transforming the effort required.
