Skewb in the Spotlight at BGF’s 15-Year Celebration of UK Entrepreneurship

A spotlight, an iconic London stage and a moment to pause.

For Skewb, BGF’s 15th anniversary celebration was more than an event. It was a powerful reflection of how far the journey has come and where it’s heading next.

Bringing together founders, investors and leaders from a  cross its UK and Ireland portfolio, the evening showcased the ambition that has defined BGF’s first fifteen years. Among them, Skewb’s Co-founders Shashi Seshadri and Indu Seshadri were featured in the showcase, recognised alongside some of the most compelling entrepreneurial journeys in the network.

Representing Skewb at the event were Shashi and Indu, alongside Chief Financial Officer Steve Douglas and Head of Audience Engagement Christina Savvas – a team reflecting both Skewb’s leadership and its continued focus on growth and engagement.

The event was hosted by Hannah Prevett, Associate Business Editor at The Sunday Times, whose expertise across technology, entrepreneurship and emerging enterprise brought sharp focus and energy to the evening. Hannah skilfully framed the discussion, drawing out insights from speakers and setting the tone for a celebration of ambition and achievement.

BGF CEO Andy Gregory addressed the audience, reflecting on BGF’s role in backing founders and management teams and supporting long-term growth. This was followed by a Q&A with Craig Marshall, CEO of OrganOx whose pioneering work has led to the development of the world’s first fully automated device for liver preservation. The technology enables donor livers to be maintained in a functioning state outside the human body for up to 24 hours, offering a powerful example of how innovation supported by investment can deliver real-world impact.

Founded in 2011 to address a critical SME funding gap, BGF supports long-term growth through minority investments – backing businesses from university spinouts to globally recognised brands.

Today, it stands as a major force in British growth capital, having deployed over £4.5bn, supported more than 600 businesses to scale and guided over 280 through to exit across the UK and Ireland.

Reflecting on Skewb’s partnership with the BGF, Skewb Co-founder and CEO Shashi Seshadri said:

“We’re incredibly grateful to BGF for welcoming Skewb into their extended family and proud to see that relationship reflected both ways. Partnerships like this are built on shared ambition and trust and we’re excited about what we can continue to achieve together as that partnership goes from strength to strength.”

For Skewb, the evening was both a moment of recognition and a reminder of the importance of partnerships in enabling progress. As the business continues its growth journey, it remains focused on building with purpose – investing in people, strengthening capability and delivering meaningful impact.

A proud moment and an exciting journey still ahead.
