Introducing Built By Difference: Skewb’s podcast series celebrating the stories that shape us

At Skewb, our strength comes from our people – their experiences, their perspectives, and the journeys that have shaped who they are today. In 2026, we’re proud to bring those stories to life through our new podcast series, Built By Difference.

Hosted by Skewb’s Head of Audience Engagement, Christina Savvas, the series shines a light on the voices behind Skewb’s culture, innovation and ambition. Each episode invites a member of our team to open up about the moments – unexpected, challenging or transformative – that have influenced how they lead, collaborate and make an impact.

From the first episode, the tone is set through a candid conversation with Co‑founder Indu Seshadri, who reflects on her early years in India, the influence of education and resilience on her leadership, and her journey across continents and career chapters. It’s a deeply human story, touching on identity, ambition and belonging – themes that resonate throughout the entire series.

As the podcast unfolds, those themes are picked up and developed by colleagues from across Skewb. The series also features guests who have collaborated with Skewbers, adding fresh perspectives to each conversation.

Eloise Blaxall, Head of Quality of Compliance, brings a refreshing honesty about curiosity, adaptability and the courage to continually evolve. Her reflections on quality, growth and stepping into new spaces highlight how diverse career paths enrich us as an organisation.

Meanwhile, Nic Evans, Director of Gas Transition & Futures, shares a powerful narrative shaped by her early career as a young apprentice, the lessons she learned ‘on the tools’, and her experience breaking barriers in a male‑dominated industry, including becoming only the second woman President of IGEM since 1863. Her journey reinforces the impact of authenticity, representation and determination.

Together, these stories paint a rich picture of what Built By Difference is all about. They show how lived experiences shape the way we work, lead and innovate, and how those differences strengthen the fabric of Skewb.

A milestone we’re incredibly proud of – 53% of our workforce are women, not by target but by outcome – underlines the culture that makes such stories possible.

More than a storytelling series, Built By Difference is an opportunity to celebrate the diverse backgrounds that make Skewb unique, learn from each other, inspire current and future leaders and strengthen connection across teams.

Each conversation deepens our understanding of the people we work alongside every day and highlights the values that anchor our culture.

For Nic, stepping into the podcast studio didn’t come easily. In fact, she jokes that it took her around 18 months to finally agree to sit behind the microphone – admitting she had been a little reluctant at first. But once she started engaging, she quickly realised how valuable it could be.

Nic says the real power of the podcast lies in the way it uncovers the stories, experiences and backgrounds that don’t always surface in day‑to‑day work: “I love listening to the podcast because you get to learn so much more about each other,” she explained.

“It helps you connect the dots, suddenly you remember who’s done what or who has experience in a particular area, and it opens the door to conversations you might not otherwise have.”

Skewb’s People and Transformation Director, Joe Parkes, says that fostering diversity across the organisation is essential to ensuring the business reflects the world it serves. While diversity has never been treated as a numerical target, he explains that intentional steps can create the conditions for more balanced representation.

“We’ve put simple but meaningful practices in place – for example, asking recruitment partners to provide shortlists with a healthy mix of perspectives, whether that’s gender, ethnicity or thinking styles. These small interventions help us make better decisions and build the kind of supportive environment we aspire to.” Listen to Joe talk more about this topic here.

You can listen to the series on Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts.
